To provide every Speech-Language Pathologist, regardless of Spanish-speaking ability, with the tools to adequately assess and treat Spanish-speaking patients who present with dysphagia and dysarthria disorders. MannaQure’s goal is to serve every individual patient given the enormity of the impact dysphagia and dysarthria may have on the overall quality of one’s life and equally significant potential loss of socialization.

MannaQure, LLC, was formed by three Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in Texas in 2013. Given the majority of SLPs in the state are monolingual with an increasing number of Spanish-only speaking adults among the population with dysphagia and dysarthria deficits, these therapists recognized the need for tools and materials to be produced.

MannaQure, is a comprehensive, norm-referenced English to Spanish dysphagia and dysarthria assessment designed to identify, describe and quantify swallowing and oral-function deficits impacting the swallow process and speech production in the adult population. This comprehensive assessment is intended to be used by the mono-lingual Speech-Language Pathologist in the development of an individualized treatment approach for use with a Spanish-speaking patient. Spanish-speaking SLPs with varying degrees of fluency will also benefit from the utilization of this tool to obtain medical terminology not commonly used otherwise.
